Paige makes ‘A Music Festival’ line-up

South African pop sensation Paige is set to perform at ‘A Music Festival’, set for Saturday, 2 December, at the Windhoek High School (WHS) sport field.

With her swift rise to fame and remarkable talent, Paige's journey from a small town to the continental spotlight is nothing short of inspirational. Her ascent to stardom commenced thanks to the power of the internet when her isiZulu rendition of Makhadzi's hit single 'Ghanama' took the music world by storm.

Since that viral moment, Paige has embarked on a whirlwind tour across Africa, consistently leaving audiences awestruck with her mesmerising performances.

Education first

In an interview with tjil, the songstress mentioned that her musical talents were apparent from a tender age. Gospel music legends Benjamin Dube and Sizwe Zakho recognised her potential and approached her parents, hoping she would lead their worship team or choir.

Respectfully declining the offer, Paige’s parents encouraged her to prioritise her education. Undeterred, she harnessed her determination to pursue both a career in law and music.

"A lawyer and a musician at once, I finally graduated and completed my studies. May all the young women out there be inspired – you can be anything you want in life! No limits," Paige said.

In 2021, she marked her official entry onto the music scene, teaming up with producer Sdala B for the EP 'Ngiyazifela Ngawe'. Her remarkable journey continued with the release of a subsequent deluxe album, featuring the hit 'Ghanama (Zulu version)'.

The singer’s talent extends beyond the stage, as she graduated with her law degree in March 2022, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her multifaceted pursuits.

Captivating performances

No stranger to the Namibian music scene, Paige has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Gazza and Page (Ethnix) and graced numerous stages in Namibia with her captivating performances.

With the recent release of her 2023 album, 'African Child,' on Thursday, 2 November, fans in Namibia can anticipate an electrifying showcase of her new material as she shares the stage with the likes of Mi Casa, Jared G and DJ Melza.

Hosted by Vocalcast Production, ‘A Music Festival’ is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Windhoek social calendar. Gates open at 11:00 and the show starts at 12:00. Tickets are available in advance for N$500 until Thursday, 30 November, and for N$550 thereafter via eticket.my.na. Tickets are also available at the Namibia Media Holdings (NMH) office in General Murtala Muhammed Avenue in Eros.
