Odotcom drops third studio album
In a resonating fusion of cultural roots and contemporary beats, the Windhoek-based duo Odotcom consisting of Samuel Mbalundu AKA Junox and Muakambithatji Katetu AKA Wizzen, recently released their third album, Omakutipongo.
The two describe the album as an amalgamation of their daily encounters and cultural influences. Collaborating with a league of extraordinary Namibian talents, including award-winning producers Blenge Mo-fire and DJ Chronic, the album features collaborations by Drawer Loco Sound, Daka Yonongo, Pau Pau and Mulberry.
"We've poured our souls into Omakutipongo," Junox and Wizzen affirmed, adding that they urge their audience to let these harmonies kindle their fervour and evoke genuine emotions. “This isn't merely music; it's a fragment of our being woven into every rhythm. We implore the world to embrace this album, to feel its resonance, and let its vibrations dissolve barriers between perception and reality.”
Besides working on the music, the duo shared that they also recently collaborated with Sanlam Namibia on the ‘My Culture My Life’ campaign. The project took them on an experiential journey through the Kunene region, allowing them to delve deep into their roots and share invaluable cultural insights with learners, emphasising the importance of preserving heritage.
