Malanga drops ‘Which Craft?’

The Rundu-based group released their long-awaited debut album last weekend.
Music collective Malanga has finally dropped the highly anticipated album ‘Which Craft?’ - much to the delight of fans.
The album was launched at a listening session at Werah Café, where the group performed the tracks live for the first time.
In an interview with tjil, collective lead Elia Da Vincii shared that Malanga refers to a society or generation of Bantu-speaking people who have created their own language and culture from various sources, all while embracing their heritage and ancestors through music and other forms of art.
When asked how one can become part of this society, he responded with a thought-provoking question: “How can I be useful to Malanga?”
He went on to explain that the society values individuals who bring value to the community.
“A successful person is one who can create a feeling of belonging,” he said.
Ritual of self-consciousness
The group expressed their gratitude to fans who have supported them by purchasing their merchandise, saying that these contributions have helped extend the growth of the society. As a token of appreciation, Malanga gifted fans with new music in celebration of their progress together and the exciting journey that lies ahead.
According to Elia Da Vincii, the album is not just about music but also serves as a ritual of self-consciousness, encouraging listeners to embrace their unique identities while growing and learning.
The album features a range of talented artists including executive producer Cota Inmza and singer Messene, who delivers sultry, seductive vocals.Moreno also lends his voice in his native Zambian language, while rapper and poet El Twakkie Vegas delivers impressive freestyle bars. The group said they hope that their fans enjoy listening to the album as much as they enjoyed making it.
Physical copies of the album are available for purchase, with the collective saying they hope to sell 1 000 units before uploading the project to streaming platforms.
