Kaptein Tswazi, one of Namibia’s most dynamic musical talents, recently released his new music video, ‘Alala,’ a collaboration with Mega, Damara Dik Ding and Jericho.

The song, which is already making waves on social media platforms like TikTok, represents a fresh direction for the artist. In an exclusive interview with tjil, Kaptein Tswazi shares insights into the making of the song and his plans for the future.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Kaptein Tswazi said: "I've decided to do something different this time that I haven't done before. What inspired me was seeing how South African artists often collaborate on one song, creating hits regardless of whose song it is. This is by far the dopest collaboration I've ever done."

The music video for ‘Alala’ has been received enthusiastically, garnering significant views within just a month of its release. "The video has been receiving major views and the song is trending massively on TikTok. This is definitely a global hit," Kaptein Tswazi noted with evident pride.

Reignited passion

The unique concept of the music video adds to its appeal. "The script was written by Mitch, who is also the main director. The visuals were shot by Erick Mule," Kaptein Tswazi revealed, highlighting the collaborative effort that brought the video to life.

‘Alala’ is more than just a single; it’s a precursor to a full album set to be released later this year.

"This year, I'll be in the studio finalising my album and performing shows. 'Alala' has reignited my passion and provided new opportunities," he said.

Kaptein Tswazi is deeply grateful for the support he has received throughout his career. "I want to thank God for this amazing gift and everyone who has supported the Kaptein Tswazi movement since day one. A big shoutout to Damara Dik Ding, Jericho and Mega for making this song possible, and to the Champions League DJs for their production work. And to the haters, 'later gesien'."

With ‘Alala,’ Kaptein Tswazi not only showcases his musical evolution but also sets the stage for what promises to be a monumental year in his career. Fans can look forward to more innovative music and powerful performances from the Namibian artist.
