Kapana cook-off: Chef Bank takes top spot in pro round

The professional chef round of Nedbank Namibia’s Kapana Cook-Off saw Heinz Bank reign supreme, walking away with the N$10 000 cash prize.
Held in Windhoek on Friday, the competition saw the four-time participant’s dish being voted the most scrumptious over Erika Karonda’s creation, which earned her the second place and N$7 000. The third-best chef was Hirodina Sangunji, who claimed the N$5 000 prize money.
In the central preliminary round held the next day, Hasheni Mandume, Maria Mumbala and Sxelse Tsamases earned themselves the first, second and third spot, and each walked away with N$10 000, N$7 000 and N$5 000 respectively.
These six contestants will now advance to the finals in Ongwediva, where they will battle it out alongside the winners of the other preliminary rounds on 24 August.
There, they stand a chance to win a fully-furnished mobile kitchen valued at N$130 000 and a Nedbank account with N$10 000.
