Dark Crown Productions' 'The Goal' premieres on DStv
Dark Crown Productions' riveting coming-of-age soccer film 'The Goal' was directed by Lavinia Kapewasha, written by Jenny Kandenge and crafted from a story by Mpingana Dax.
'The Goal' premiered on DStv's Kyknet (channel 144) on Sunday, 17 September, and has also been made available for viewing on Kyknet through GoTV.
“The film is now accessible for streaming on Showmax, ensuring that audiences can enjoy this gripping story from the comfort of their homes. Synopsis
In 'The Goal', Esmeralda - a remarkably talented 17-year-old soccer player hailing from a struggling background - harbours aspirations of securing a coveted spot on an international football team. However, her path to glory is marred by a turbulent home life, dominated by her alcoholic mother. After a falling-out with her family, she seeks refuge with her father's relatives and embarks on a new journey at St John's School.
As she strives to fit into this unfamiliar environment, Esmeralda finds herself making daring choices that lead to unforeseen consequences, potentially jeopardising her cherished dreams. A pivotal moment forces her to confront a life-altering decision, where she must choose between her ambitions and a perilous path of recklessness.

'The Goal' is one of 13 films funded by Multichoice and NBC's Mukhorob Project.
