Ministry announces NamLITS service interruption

News in short
Ellanie Smit
Users of the Namibia Livestock Identification and Traceability System (NamLITS) are informed of a service interruption from 23 to 27 August due to scheduled maintenance of the system. This is according to acting chief veterinary officer at the agriculture ministry, Dr Johannes Shoopala.

He said the maintenance will affect services rendered by the directorate of veterinary services and the Livestock and Livestock Products Board (LLPB) offices countrywide.

This includes the issuing of livestock movement permits, NamLITS transactions, processing of stock-brand-related applications as well as the sale of ear tags.

“All parties in the livestock industry as well as offices of the directorate and the LLPB are strongly advised to make prior arrangements to ensure operations are not affected as no NamLITS-related services will be possible during this time.”
