Oshivelo crash survivors transferred to Ongwediva

Three people who survived an accident between Tsumeb and Oshivelo have been transferred to Ongwediva Medipark for further medical care. Five people died in the crash, which took place in the early morning hours of yesterday on the B1 road after the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and it left the road and overturned.

There were eight occupants in the vehicle. Four died at the scene and the other four were taken to the Tsumeb State Hospital for medical attention. A fifth person succumbed to their injuries in hospital.

The deceased have been identified as the driver Magdalena Ruanda (58), Martha Samuel (47), Reinhold Rannei Megameno Ankambo (18), Bravo Simson (12) and Elizabeth Ruanda (5). Their next of kin have been informed.
