Debmarine uplifts Kavango school garden project
Debmarine Namibia has donated garden equipment valued at around N$60 000 to the Mbambi Senior Primary School in the Kavango East Region.
The donation aims to improve knowledge on agriculture and nutrition among learners.
"We firmly believe that this garden will serve as an invaluable educational tool for the students," Debmarine Namibia's chairperson of the social investment committee, Stella Ipinge, said.
She said the gardening project will not only provide learners with hands-on experience in cultivating plants and understanding the importance of agriculture, but also offer a source of nutritious food.
"Supporting education has always been a priority for us, and it aligns perfectly with our social investment pillar called Partnering for Thriving Communities."
Supporting a school's vision
The donated equipment consists of fencing materials to cover an area of 4 000 square metres, along with garden tools and irrigation pipes.
Ipinge called upon the school to maintain the donated equipment.
Mukuvi Primary School principal Makanga Karufere accepted the donation on behalf of the Shinyungwe circuit.
"We would like to sincerely thank Debmarine Namibia for their thoughtful and generous donation. We deeply appreciate your contribution towards this garden, as it aligns perfectly with our vision to prepare for the future diamond marine miners, both men and women, who will work for our company. Your support is highly valued and acknowledged," he said.
