Kenya Kambowe
Police in Oshikoto Region are investigating an arson case after a 27-year-old man allegedly set his elder brother’s shack on fire at their homestead in Akoonde village. The incident resulted in the destruction of belongings worth approximately N$15,000. According to the police report, the brothers had an argument at local cuca shops that led to the incident. “It’s alleged that the suspect was at Akoonde village local cuca shops and started insulting everyone present,” the report stated. The elder brother intervened, asking the suspect to stop his behavior, which reportedly provoked the suspect. “The suspect became aggressive and warned his elder brother that he would teach him a lesson he would never forget,” the report added. The suspect allegedly returned to their homestead, where he removed his belongings from the shack before setting it on fire. The structure burned to the ground, resulting in the destruction of several items, including the elder brother’s national identity document, two metal beds, blankets, cosmetics, and clothes.
