Success is no accident
Nedbank Namibia honors its top achievers

On Friday, 30 April, Nedbank Namibia held its annual Employee Top Achiever Awards at the site of the construction of the new Nedbank Campus building, at the Freedom Plaza, on Fidel Castro Street in the Windhoek CBD.
The event was held under the theme “Movin into the New - Boost 21,” which celebrated the Nedbank staff members who went above and beyond during 2020.
Speaking at the event, Nedbank Namibia’s Managing Director, Martha Murorua, congratulated all the award recipients and noted that their achievements are by no means a result of luck, but of their hard work, “Your accomplishments as top achievers are by no means a case of striking lucky or being in the right place at the right time. Your success is the progressive, timely achievement of your stated goals. And tonight, we salute how you have delivered on your purpose” she said.
A total of 15 award categories were presented on the night. Awards were given to employees who dedicated themselves to clients and whose efforts resulted in effective returns to the company. The awards included, Top Sales Team Award, Top Teller Award, Best Overall Teller Award, Best Performing Branch, and Best Customer Service Champion Award.
This year, Nedbank also dedicated a special award to employees who went beyond their already outlined roles to keep the bank and all its stakeholders safe amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Four individuals from Risk, IT, Procurement and Marketing and Communication Business Units, were each awarded a special award for their outstanding performance over the past year.
Nedbank’s Executive for Wealth and Bancassurance, Biniam Ghirmatsion, in his closing remakes said that diligently following processes and aligning to the structures in place to ensure that this recognition programme is not only credible but an impactful value addition to the business. “Commemorating our people is something we consistently do, our success after all is the cumulative contributions and tireless efforts exerted by each of you,” he said.
Murorua further urged that employees reflect on the magnitude of this event as it is an important order to thank employees for taking the stairs to success. “I am truly humbled to recognize each and every one of you, who despite the challenging socio-economic environment we have found ourselves in, have kept on moving forward to achieve exceptional results. Let us aspire to remain headstrong in our pursuit of being money experts who use our expertise to do good,” she said.
