Haoseb signs with Polokwane

Brave Warriors defender Denzil Haoseb has signed with Polokwane City. The team features in the GladAfrica Championship, which is South Africa's second tier of professional football league.
The duration of the signing, according to him, is for a season - which ends in May. Haoseb is tasked to use his experience in defence to propel the team to new heights.
The rock-solid Namibian defender is no newbie to football circles in South Africa as he was last signed to Highlands Park from 2018 to 2019, and before that, he played for Jomo Cosmos from 2016 to 2018. Locally, he played for Black Africa (BA) from 2010 to 2016.
Haoseb made his debut for Namibia’s senior national football team in a friendly against Botswana in Maun on 16 March 2011 and was part of the Warriors squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
He has won four Namibia Premier League titles with BA, and also won the 2015 Cosafa Cup with the Warriors.

“I’m focused. [I] was welcomed with open arms at training. I’m working hard on my fitness and the coaches are pushing me and I can tell that they are happy with my progress.”
Polokwane will face Steenberg United today in the Nedbank Cup as well as TS Sporting on Sunday.
Haoseb is, however, still waiting for his work permit to be processed before he can be picked for play.
“Hopefully any time soon I will be available for selection,” he said.
With 12 points, Polokwane is ninth on the log out of 16 clubs. The standings are led by Sekhukhune, followed in second place by Jomo Cosmos (19). The rest of the top five is made up of Richards Bay, Uthongathi (both on 17 points) and JDR Stars (16) in third, fourth and fifth place respectively.
