New permanent secretaries named
The Office of the Prime Minister has announced the appointment and redeployment of new permanent secretaries with effect from 1 August 2018. In a press statement a while ago, the Cabinet secretariat announced that I-Ben Nashandi, who was formerly at the poverty eradication ministry, will now take over as the substantive PS in the Office of the Prime Minister. He will take over from Nangula Mbako who retired last year, but has seemingly been retained as advisor to Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila. The other permanent secretary at the OPM is Andreas Mwoombola who is responsible for implementation and monitoring. Nashandi has been replaced by Esther Lusepani at the poverty eradication ministry. Government has also announced the appointment of Annely Haiphene as the new PS at the National Planning Commission, replacing Leevi Hungamo who resigned last year. Abraham Iilonga is the new accounting officer responsible for veteran affairs and takes over from Hopelong Ipinge who recently retired, while Annascy Mwanyangapo is the substantive PS at the ministry of public enterprises.
