More awards for ‘Cutting the Line’ documentary

International awards continue to pour in for the documentary, ‘Cutting The Line’, which tackles the impact of plastic pollution in oceans.



The documentary tells the story of how fishing lines and plastic rubbish injure and claim the lives of seals along the Namibian coast. It also focuses on the excellent conservation work of Ocean Conservation Namibia, led by Naude Dreyer.



‘Cutting the Line’ was named the Best Wildlife/Nature Documentary at the 2024 Nature Without Borders International Film Festival. It was also a finalist for Best Feature Documentary Award at the Prague Film Festival, and received an Honorable Mention at the Around International Film Festival in Amsterdam.



The film further won the Best Feature Documentary award at the Sydney World Festival 2023-24, and won the same award in 2023 at the Berlin International Art Film Festival, Boston Independent Film Awards, Milan Film Awards and La Paz International Film Festival.



At the Portoviejo Film Festival in 2023, ‘Cutting the Line’ was nominated as the Best International Documentary Feature Film and the Best Wildlife and Environmental Documentary Film at the Documentaries Without Borders International Film Festival 2023.



The film was officially selected for theatrical release in 2023 at the Eastern Europe International Film Awards, Hollywood Discovery Awards, Los Angeles Independent Film Channel Festival, LA Indies, LA Sun Film Festival and Wildlife Conservation Film Festival.
